The treatment begins with Shiatsu - one of the oldest forms of massage - and is performed through clothing or over a sheet. Via the application of pressure and stretching techniques, Shiatsu relieves muscle tension, eases joint stiffness and realigns the structure of the body. Pressure along energy pathways of the body moves stagnant energy, clears energy blocks and brings the body into balance. As the Swedish begins, the sheet is draped for modesty, the therapist uses light to moderate pressure to reduce stress, promote relaxation, improve circulation and stimulate the nervous system. Designed to work synergistically, the session with include multiple massage modalities, soothing techniques and strokes.
